Sustainable cleaning products use many resources such as energy, water and other materials in all phases of their life cycle.
These phases include manufacture, transportation, and storage of the product in addition to the disposal of the product and its packaging. Sustainability initiatives seek to increase the overall efficiency of resource usage throughout the product’s life cycle.
For example, a new process that reduced the energy needed to manufacture a product wouldn’t be sustainable if it also increased
the energy needed to transport and use the product by more than the energy saved in its manufacture.
